Do Chocolate Chip Cookies Make You Feel Alert And Awake?

If you binge on two large chocolate chip cookies, you may encounter less than 5 milligrams of caffeine. That is not nearly enough to keep you up at night.

Even though there isn’t enough caffeine for your alert mode, still some health professionals recommend not eating chocolate chip cookies before going to bed.

If you are wondering why here is your answer. While the cookies won’t actually keep you wide awake, the sugar from the cookies can cause disturbed sleep.

Having sugar snacks right before bed is not really a good idea as it hinders the sleep process. You might find yourself going through a rough sleep or waking up again and again after short intervals. This is possibly due to the sugar rush from the cookies.

Rather than caffeine, sugar plays a much more important role in messing up your sleeping routine. So make sure that you eat those delicious, sweet, and tempting cookies way before your sleep. You wouldn’t want to disturb your beauty sleep, right?

Does Oreo Contain Caffeine or Not?

Who doesn’t like those brilliant dark chocolate cookies sandwiched together to give an out-of-the-world taste? If you wished that oreo did not have a single hint of caffeine in it, you would be a little disappointed to find out that oreo does contain a little bit of caffeine - not much, just a tiny bit. Don’t worry; you can still eat your Oreos.

If you talk about one regular-sized oreo, you will find around 1.3 milligrams of caffeine in it.

If you think that is too much, relax! Even if you wander to a medical store to buy some over-the-counter pain relief drugs, you will find around 3 milligrams of caffeine in it too.

How Much Caffeine Can You Consume Per Day?

If you have an intake of around 400 milligrams in a single day, that is perfectly alright. While it is good for a healthy adult, you must ensure that children do not get into the habit of consuming caffeinated drinks from an early age. It can be quite dangerous for the little ones to consume an overload of caffeine.

If you drink around 4 cups of freshly brewed cups of coffee, it is considered safe. With that said, 400 milligrams can cover your ten cola drinks. 2 energy drinks can set your bar to 400 milligrams, and you would need to put an end to an extended caffeine consumption for that day.

If your caffeine consumption is too high, you can notice some symptoms like nausea, headache, irritated mood, sleep problems, fast heartbeat, tremors in the muscles, frequent urge to urinate, etc.

Cut back on the caffeine as soon as you notice any such symptoms.

EndNote

Buy your chocolate chip cookies and munch on them happily. If you eat them in a moderate amount, you can enjoy them without feeling too guilty.
